12.01.06 A rim to body sherd of a lovely flat plate. I suspect the base is entirely flat and continuous with the body, but since the very center of the vessel is missing, can't be sure. The plate is in the shape of a phiale, with an inverted cone, concave neck that leads continuously to a narrowing but rounded rim. The vessel is fine and well made, with polished brown and reddish brown surfaces. 6 sherds were retrieved, on which only two joined. Lilit cleaned the sherds. The interior color is just a little more brown than the color indicated above, but this is the best color on Munsell. One piece of this vessel sent for INAA.
