The interior of this base sherd is broken off, revealing the inside fabric. For this reason I have not measured the interior surface color. The exterior has a series of shallow, equadistant lines probably made by a comb tool. At the break between the base and the body there are a series of diagonal, hatched impressions, probably made with some sort of press tool. Five such hatch marks are extant on the sherd. In addition to the medium sand, there are some larger inclusions, like a small pebble and some larger pieces of quartz. The exterior color is not easily matched to any Munsell color due to wear and mottling.
