This complete basalt mortar was found upside down on the bedrock outcrop of locus 18. It is nearly perfectly rounded (or so it seems) and the depression is quite shallow, suggesting that perhaps it had a short use life. The "contents" of the depression were sampled for macrobotanical analysis. There is a white residue on the interior. It was located at elevation 2140.056, 1.05m from the southwest wall and 2.36 meters from the northwest wall.
