Today we were working again in both T20 and T22. We are digging down farther to the east of the central room in T22, but so far the materials are not plentiful, and the soil is a gravelly, micaeous yellowish-brown soil that almost seems like the very sterile soil found in T16's western edge in 2006. So far all that has been revealed of the outside of that wall is the triple line of rocks already visible before we dug to the east, and that they appear to be one layer deep so far.We are also working to the south of the central room in T22, trying to connect the two trenches. Again, so far, not much has been revealed--there are many, many rocks in this area, precluding the ability to dig with shovels, so work is slow. There may be a line of rocks indicative of a wall, but it's not certain yet.In T20, we cleaned the wall that runs north-south in the eastern third of the trench, because it is as yet difficult to see how that wall articulates with the wall that runs east-west near the terrace wall (to the south of where the pithos was found in 2006). In fact, in the corner where these two walls ought to meet, we found a surface with two sherds intact on it; I took photos, because I think it may be necessary to remove that small bit of surface if we are going to find the corner of the two walls. Also removed the two sherds; they should be in T20.104 ceramics bag 2.
