Today was a half day at Tsaghkahovit so I decided not to open locus 4, the western and southern corners of WSAC. Instead I split the group up into two parts, one of which finished removing the darker soil of locus 3, and the other which removed and screened the medium brown soil of locus 5. This locus is becoming larger as it goes down in elevation, but by the end of the day I had not reached its bottom. It is, however, appearing more compact in that corner close to the stone walls. From the screening of this locus, in the approximate northern area, came one small piece of charred bone (for elevation and measurements see notebook) and a small, polished stone (for elevation and measurements see notebook). The screening did not produce much else, beyond smaller bones and ceramics. By the end of the day we had cleaned the surface but it is clear that the top corners still need to come down to be level with the rest of the trench.
