Today was a half-day on site because of rain. We finished at about 2 PM. In T22, we continue to clean and clear L110 especially trying to sort out whether there is a EB wall running E/W in this locus, beneath the most northerly large stone.
In T27, we started a new ~10 cm pass from the southern end of the trench. About halfway across the trench, in the center we came across what seems to be an intact LBA jar, in situ. For now (partially because of the half day and partially because the jar is still covered) we left the jar in situ. In the same vicinity we came across a large charcoal beam (?) that obviously has tree rings showing. We are trying to excavate this carefully and keep it intact if possible for dendrochronology or wiggle-matching. Adam says I should make this a new locus tomorrow (photograph?) and then take it out. In the NE corner of the trench, near the “box” (T27, L03) we came across what are two large, flat stones. I will take an elevation and measure these stones tomorrow, since they appear to be sitting on (or themselves acting as) a floor/surface.
