Today the Armenian Air Force visited us early on-- just as we got out of the truck, two fighter planes flew over head and continued to do so through out the day. From an archaeological standpoint, in T22, L110, we continued to clear and remove some stones which were obviously not part of an EB wall. Regardless, the search for the EB wall continues, though I am not so confident that we will find it. In any case, it would be useful to being L110 to bedrock in order to recover those ceramic sherds which may match up with the sherds from L108.
In T27, today we removed another ~15 cm of soil in order to better expose the LBA jar for photos. In the NW corner of the trench it seems that we are coming into the burn layer. We seem to have exposed (and covered at the end of the day, since we did not remove it) part of a wooden beam, which is partially burned, and partially preserved as actual wood. Tomorrow we will continue this pass, see what existed beneath L03 (the stone box) and level out the trench. We will also open a new locus, L04, as a dendro place, which will represent a large beam-like charcoal piece which is in the SW of the trench.
