L528 was only 11 cm deep and it tapered downwards, maintaining the dark black soil. In the locus we found 3 ceramic sherds and 1 small piece of obsidian.
In L529, we took a sample of charcoal (Ar/Ge.T19.529.C14.02) from along the northern wall of the trench. We found a retouched flake/spokeshave (Ar/Ge.T19.529.L.04) in the center of the locus. There are a large number of bones coming out of the locus. We found another piece of charcoal (Ar/Ge.T19.529.C14.03) in the SW corner of the trench. We found a ceramic pendant/ring/something(Ar/Ge.T19.529.CO.01) in the SE part of the locus. We also found a worked bone scraper (Ar/Ge.T19.529.B.02). After bringing L529 down to the level of L525, it is clear that the soil color and texture are the same across the entire area east of the LBA wall.
I opened a new locus (L530) which covers the whole area east of the LBA wall. It appears that we may be coming up on the bottom of the LBA wall. We found a small piece of groundstone (Ar/Ge.t19.530.L.01), just west of the wall fall in the SE corner of the locus. We found a small shell (land snail?) (Ar/Ge.T19.530.SH.01) just under the LBA wall (on the eastern side of it), just below the datum. We found another piece of groundstone (Ar/Ge.T19.530.L.02) in the SE corner of the locus. A large number of bones are coming out of the SE corner of the locus. It appears that the LBA wall may have been built on top of an EBA wall.
