Today I had the crew spend the entire day cleaning the rock tumble in L09, L10, L61 and L62 (a locus newly opened today). In many ways the tumble is confusing-- but some linear features do seem to be present. In particular there may be a E-W wall which is extending downslope, as well as a large granite wall which lines up with the large block in T22. Tomorrow we’ll have to begin removing stones in earnest in order to free up room to excavate. Aris did uncover what seems to be an EB ceramic smash in the SW corner of L09, though we’ve left it intact since it may represent an EB floor which is elsewhere covered by the rock fall. Will take this into consideration tomorrow when removing stones.
I also spent most of the morning drawing part of the N baulk in T22 and will draw the S baulk in T27 tomorrow, with elevations for the burn layer, and the various clay floorings visible in the T22 baulk. This should help us better understand the relationship between the clay platform (L60) in T27, as well as the plaster/white clay surface in L56 there, and what seems to be the continuation of the room in T22.
