Today we dug in the east corner to delineate the feature that is perpendicular to the NE wall, i.e. Locus 25. Inside of Locus 25, between it and the SE wall is Locus 23, which we ascertained was a platform of some sort. This seems to be a fairly secure interpretation, as the mottled, sterile clay prep that is used to flatten the area for floors takes a serious step downward right at the point of Locus 18, the feature perpendicular to the SE wall. The whole of Locus 23 appears to have been raised above the level of the rest of the room.
In addition, we dug down Locus 22 to make it more or less flat around the feature that is Locus 20. I also cleaned the area just to the east of Locus 20, along the NE wall, and removed a couple rocks, determining that there is indeed another stone feature abutting the NE wall, just to the east/'right' of Locus 20. What this means as of yet is unclear. On Monday and into next week, we will continue to work in Locus 22 to try to isolate Locus 20 and determine its function, as well as to delineate the floor in Locus 22 and to see if there is actually more than one floor there (as seems likely).
