Today we worked to open the rest of the floor in Locus 22. We were digging by shovel in the southwestern portion of the locus, and screening. In the north corner, we troweled around Locus 24, looking for a possible stone feature to the north of Locus 20, parallel to the northeastern wall and thus mirroring the feature on the east side of Locus 20. We did find two more stones that appear as though they are deliberately placed, but more work needs to be done in this corner. In the west corner, we uncovered the furthest extent of Locus 24, as well as a jumble of rocks near its western extent. It almost seems as though there is a line of rocks running from the west corner to the south corner, outlining a step in the floor. However, the work so far is not clean enough to ascertain whether this theory is correct. We will continue to delineate Locus 22 tomorrow.
