Narrative

We're finding overwhelmingly EB sherds everywhere, but an especially pinkish-red glazed ware in the northwest corner of locus 12. Charcoal was also found (very small bits that very well could be cooked and smashed pottery) in locus 12 (two) and locus 5 (one). It appears the bottom of locus 12 might be a floor, which I have partially dug through in the NW corner, revealing tandem lines of portable granite boulders with pulverized surfaces.

Ideally I could recreate the rockfall digitally or something, or in some other dimension, and just blast through all these rocks. I'd really like to know if the large signals were caused by granite piles of locus 5, or something underneath them. Unless I remove all rocks and dig to bedrock, I can't know, and this season at least, I won't know. Alas! We still removed some rocks from the SW corner, but there are still rocks directly over where the signals are, or, of course, occupying the same space because they are the signals. At any rate, we don't want to just nuke architecture to find a pretty necklace. Unfortunately. Kidding, kidding.

Digging in locus 12 has been halted indeterminately, to preserve the floor. The floor and foundation stones have been made locus 13.
