Today we continued removing the overburden from the east side of the trench. Material densities are low, but many small rocks have emerged along the eastern wall of the trench. It remains to be seen if these are anything more than wall fall. We found a tuff polishing stone in the NW corner of the trench (Ar/Ge.T31.1.L.02). A dark, almost black soil emerged as we came down, but it doesn’t have any charcoal in it. It emerged first in the NW corner and t then I decided to take the rest of the locus down to see if it covered more of the trench.
