ATS and RB came out to the site this morning, spend a half hour or so looking at trenches, architecture, possible location of an entrance-trench (among the architectural remains on the southern margin-- also is there an asymmetrical extension out to the southeast?). We took down AC2 in the morning: Loci 2 and 3 divided on either side of a linear stone collapsy Locus (5), with Locus 2 expanding to fill the entire west side of the trench (crumbly sandy soil). We removed the burnt feature (locus 4), cleaned the stones for photos. Made a basic drawing with elevations.
Started taking down AC1, opened some burnt areas of soil with bone and some ceramic finds. I designated one burnt feature Locus 4 and collected a soil sample. We continued past this level, found a shaped tufa corner-piece that had been worked with two wells and connecting grooves. A mold? A lamp?
