I opened locus 4 in the front (NW edge) of the trench, since a few of the workers were busy breaking stones from the considerable wall fall in the other end (SE) of the trench. Cultural materials from locus 4 are minimal, but that is to be expected since the locus includes the 3m x 3m trench dug by LK in 2005. Walls are now clearly visible in the NW and SE edges of the trench. The former appears to be in good shape; the latter will need a lot of cleaning before further digging.
There is still the big question as to what all the rocks in the middle of the trench indicate. At any rate I will start moving towards the middle from the ends of the trench to keep it generally level.
