Finally finished moving the backdirt in the morning and laid out SLT13, another 5x7m operation to the north of SLT14 and separated by a 1m baulk. Also separated from SLT9 to the west by a 1m baulk. In the topsoil we recovered a fragment of a small mortar, about the same size as the ones we had found in SLT1 and 2. This was recorded as Ar/Ts.SLT13.1.L.1.
It's also already clear that the topsoil of SLT14 is producing a lot of bones. We also recovered a groundstone fragment (Ar/Ts.SLT14.1.L.1). An E-W wall is emerging that appears to be the continuation of the one found in SLT10. I'm keeping locus 1 the same throughout the trench, but will distinguish the soil on either side of the wall with separate loci once I'm done with topsoil.
