Team of five workers started this morning removing the loose soil from yesterday in Locus 6 while Gagik trowelled in Locus 7 and I drew the southern part of the partition wall's SE face where a rock in an upper course is resting on soil and needs to come out. After Locus 6 was closed I opened Locus 8 (the very dark looser soil still in the western corner and abutting Locus 6) and drew in the rocks that started appearing in the center of the trench which are probably resting on the cultural fill but not the floor.
In the morning Lori and I talked about the SW baulk which at this point, about 60 or 70 cm down, is not catching the SW wall of the room. Extending the trench about 2 meters in that direction might catch it since two large rocks are visible on the surface at the same relative angle as the wall seen in the western corner of the operation. Extending would also hopefully catch a door that looks like it might be where the wheelbarrow ramp is now. After lunch I extended the SW baulk 1.8 meters, making the operation 10 by 6.2 m and designated the topsoil as Locus 9, which the workers started removing around 2 after I took pictures and elevations.
