Spoke with Adam and Ruben this morning, and because the wall is really quite convincing and on line with what is potentially a wall in T27, we decided to extend T32 one meter to the N in order to catch the corner of the room. So, Armen and Genell spent the whole day bringing clearing the sod off this new extension (which, by the way, is L07), and then bringing it down to the same level as the rest of the trench. Because we know that we are still in a fill layer, I decided to excavate this portion of the trench as one locus, then, once we're even across the whole trench we can begin a new locus for everything (L08). Sure enough, after lunch, we had clearly identified the corner of the room where the wall from T27 and the new wall in T32 meet.
We took one charcoal sample from L06 (Ar/Ge.T32.06.C14.01), and also found a jar stopper (Ar/Ge.T32.06.CO.01) and a stone mortar on a portion of the wall in L07 (Ar/Ge.T32.06.L.01). We also came across a sheep/goat skull that was split down the middle medially. I wondered if this might be sitting on a floor, but it didn't seem to be, so we lifted it. Later in the day (around 3:15PM) we came across three small, complete vessels just east of the wall, and at about the same elevation of the sheep skull, so it's possible that this skull actually sat on the same level as the vessels. We photographed these vessels and left them in situ to deal with tomorrow. We'll peel back the soil at the same level as these vessels in order to discern whether there is an actual layer here.
