The highlight of the day today is that we finished excavating operation WSI2. After screening what remained of the floor (locus 22) and excavating the pits (loci 35 and 36), both of which were shallow and proved to be nearly empty of artifacts, I excavated a small probe beside locus 27 to see if the rectangular box of stones extends deeper (it does not--the stones are resting directly on the "bedrock" of the gray/yellowish clay). Final photos taken. In WSN, we created two new loci today. Locus 33 was created in the east corner to capture the yellowish clay appearing there--an extremely rocky area. Also, locus 34 created in the northern sector of the trench, the area just adjacent to locus 31--the line of stones that runs parallel to the northeast wall.
