AM Trowel passes across AC1 locus 10, cutting locus 9 (pit). rock scatter coeval with the rock context of locus 11 (vessel, removed) emerged, this was declared locus 12 in contradistinction with an emergent clayey floor Locus 13; drawn, photos, locus 12 removed with trowels. Lots of mouse bones. Some sherds, larger bones. soil definitely degrading towards eastern side of the trench.
PM. finished up work in AC1, began removing locus 7 from on top of locus 8 in AC2 (locus 7 is dark fill with burning and stones, cultural material-- locus 8 is the concrete decay/gravel and has almost no material so far). nice green/yellow sgraffiato sherd from the southern part of the locus, and a whole bunch of sheep ribs. this soil is dark brown and really soft, peels off of the hard, skittery gravel of Locus 8. pay day today.
