Began locus 2 wash layer in SLT 14. This is a dark tan soil located to the north of a possible wall feature (locus 6) that is emerging across the northern third of the trench. The area south of this wall feature will be designated locus 3. Not long after going down in locus 2, we came down on a denser clay layer in the NW corner of operation which I designated locus 4. At the beginning of this locus we collected a good size radiocarbon sample. Location of charcoal sample is sketched in notebook and depth was 1.10m below datum (Ar/Ts.SLT14.4.c14.1). Not yet clear is this is the same clay layer as we came down on in SLT 9 and 10, or what the context is. I'm concentrating on bringing down the uphill southern portion of trench in locus three down to the same elevation as locus 4 so we can take both sides down more evenly. We also found two obsidian flake tools in SLT 14 today.
