Narrative

In SLT14 locus 3 wash layer, they denser clay layer became evident by the end of the day, so we'll level it off tomorrow and change to locus 5. This is a pretty gravelly/cobbly clay layer, and we'll see if it corresponds to locus 4 layer on the north side of the wall. Still a lot of cow bones coming out (eventually 11 bags would collected from locus 3).

The E-W wall running across the northern third of trench, apparently continuing from SLT 10, I'm designating locus 6, though right now the construction is still not well defined.

In SLT13, in consultation with Lilit, I pulled some of the stone resting on the locus 4 wall that appear to have been collapse (or at least no longer in their place), so that we can better see the face of the wall. Still going down in locus 2, and three courses are clearly visible throughout the wall.

Lori not on site today, so I had some of her workers. With the extra hands, I measured out what would be SLT 12 to the west of SLT 10 and had them take off the sod. If it turns out we don't have time to get to this trench, the sod will grow back; but it will save us some time if we do end up getting to it.
