Began the day today evening things out in L11 in order to open a new locus and in the process, we exposed two small vessels that are just to the S of the large storage jar. These vessels are sitting on (or in?) an orange and white clayey matrix that may be a shelf and the reason why the the large storage jar is sitting up as it is (perhaps leaning on the shelf?). We cleaned for photographing (for the record there are now four small ceramics that are located near the wall (Ar/Ge.T32.08) and still in situ-- we'll try to keep these in situ in order to photograph as many of the ceramics/floor together). We then opened a new locus (L15) to continue excavating and exposing ceramics. In the process we've unearthed another medium size vessel about a meter from the wall in the center of the trench. Additionally, we've exposed a large beam, mostly burnt, but a bit of preserved wood on the outside that sits beneath the large storage vessel, just to the E. Toward the end of the day, as we were continuing L15, a medium-large size vessel began to appear in the SE quadrant of the trench. We'll continue clear and exposing these ceramics tomorrow, clean and photograph before continuing deeper.
As in T27 last year, I will assign a locus to each of the largely complete ceramics that we find in order to make it easier to keep track of floatation and conservation. To this end, L16 is the "magral" in the SW quadrant of the trench sitting just to the E of the wall, and the large storage vessel is L17.
