There's not much to write today, but a good deal was accomplished. Sahag and company continued work on locus 10 and again managed to split a good amount of rocks. Not many materials came out of this locus today, but once the rocks are clear it looks like it will be a straight shot to the floor.
I closed locus 12 today. The feature which I thought might be in the W corner turned out to be just a random pattern of small rocks. Locus 12 was a new matrix of entirely reddish clay. After taking bottom elevations on it we opened locus 13, also against the SW wall, which similarly consisted entirely of red clay. Locus 13 was originally fenced off from locus 10 by a loose alignment of rocks. Many of these have now been broken and removed. Another day, two at the most, should be enough to completely clear the middle of the trench.
