We started today by taking down the area west of the line of rocks, which is now Locus 17. Near the large rock in the NE corner of Locus 17, we found a piece of worked bone (Ar/Ge.T31.17.B.01) at 2284.29 masl. More rocks have appeared in the line of rocks between Locus 12 and Locus 17, but it is still not clear whether it is actually a wall. The matrix in Locus 17 is a medium brown silty clay loam and doesn’t have the staining and mottled colors seen in Locus 12, though this may be due to the slope of the trench. The ceramics coming out of the locus are mixed EB and LB. From the western part of the locus, out of the screen, we recovered a flint sickle blade, which Reuben identified as EB. The flat board and the pieces of burnt wood under it are now Locus 15, and the burnt beam between the rocks in the SW corner of Locus 12 is now Locus 16. The thin ring of charcoal and nearby concentrations of charcoal in the NW corner of Locus 12 is now Locus 18. I photographed and took radiocarbon samples from Loci 13-16.
