While taking down Locus 12, we encountered a large area of charcoal, which appears to be part of two burned beams which are crossed at a little less than 90 degrees. This is now Locus 13. The top of the beams is at 2284.40 masl and the bottom is at 2284.27 masl. The top beam lies parallel to the surface and measures 12 cm x 17 cm x 7 cm. The bottom beam is angled downwards and measures 25 cm x 6 cm x 6 cm. There is a large amount of ash in the NE corner of Locus 12, with the tops of a number of rocks beginning to emerge. Near Locus 13, there is another portion of a beam running north-south , which is now Locus 14. The top of the beam is at 2284.39 masl and measures 26 cm x 7 cm. There is another moderate sized piece of charcoal, which is just south of Locus 13, which is angled downward and oriented SSE. In the NW corner there is a portion of a burned board, near a portion of a burned beam and a few other pieces of charcoal. One of the pieces underneath the board appears to have a hole in it.
