Narrative

Started in the morning finishing the second shovel pass in Locus 3 in WSAC3, toward the southern and western areas of he trench. We also shortened the wheelbarrow ramp in the morning. In the afternoon, the guys broke three large rocks along the SW wall of the trench which were either sitting on overburden or on other rocks in what looks like wall fall. Several other stones are now visible which I drew today, including 4 that seem to be in a line running about a meter and a half from the NW wall and parallel to it. Not sure what they could be; one is much larger than the others. For the rest of the afternoon I had the workers (7 today) cleaning the surface of Locus 3 so that I could see soil changes. The more clay-y lighter brown matrix of the cultural fill is now apparent along the NE baulk, and in some areas in front of the SW wall, but there is also still a lot of the darker black loam in the direct center of the trench. Around Locus 4 in the northern area the soil is still pretty loamy and we need to take that locus down another pass. The western corner is relatively blocked by the wheelbarrow ramp, but the soil there looks dark.
