Spent the morning helping Katie lay out a grid for the GPR survey in the area to the northeast of WSN. Also, removed artifacts that had been resting on the floor of WSN to secure them before the weekend. This included two groundstones (one from atop the flagstone floor, the other from locus 66) and a mortar on top of the flagstone floor that was too big to bring home. We also collected the large pieces of oven or "platter" parts embedded in the floor at the junction of locus 58 and 64. In the west corner of WSN, I continued to try and clarify the possible annex or passageway. The annex hypothesis is looking less likely in light of the fact that the line of stones that appeared to close off the space toward the west is now seen to be floating. This must be some sort of later blockage similar to the one that closes off the door (?) of WSM in the northern end of the northwest wall. We opened a few loci in this area (102 and 103). But not sure how to proceed at this point. Will wait for a consult with Adam on Monday. In the afternoon I read pottery on site.
