Today, the area immediately below locus 1 has been assigned to locus 2. In this area, locus 2 represents the top of the clay/rock floor, as well as the 3 x 2 m portion (formerly 3 x 1.5 m on 07•07•11) of the floor which was excavated to bedrock.
The only locus in operation today was locus 2, after the topsoil above the floor was excavated. Again, the matrix yielded scant finds.
To better gauge the profile of the floor, and what type of path lay under the soil, I excavated a 0.3 x 4 m section along the southeast baulk. At 0.5 m deep by the end of today, the floor appears parallel to the slope. The floor profile 3 x 2 m section, by contrast, appears to have been leveled out. Tomorrow I will study the profile further.
A small 0.5 x 1 m section was excavated beyond but adjacent to the northwest baulk, in order to discern any courses additional courses of the terrace wall. So far, it appears that the boulders of the terrace wall are floating.
