Narrative

Today, a 0.5 m portion of the upper section of the presumed floor was carefully excavated, to preserve the heavily weathered rock core. The lower section was fully excavated to bedrock, or just above it. There appears to be no step-like formation in the profile—the soil strata seem to be parallel to each other and the slope of the hill.

Tomorrow I will clean, photograph, and draw the trench, and begin excavations at a new site further downslope. The area is flat, and is the location of a square anomaly, possibly walls of a structure, beside what appears to be the main path of approach from the plain to the north to the upper Tsaghkahovit settlements such as SLT.
