Today the Tsaghkahovit academic crew went to Gegharot to gawk at the finds in Jeff's trench—complete LBA vessels mostly inside a circular clay formation—as well as look at the other trenches and their interesting architecture. I also photographed a 360º set of the view from Gegharot.
It had rained overnight, but ET4 was undamaged and there was no standing water. My crew took out the wheelbarrow platform and constructed a ramp at the southeast corner, which has a much smaller footprint. Currently, we are bringing the portion of locus 3 abutting the west-baulk (E1; Exterior 1) down to the lowest level in the I1 region (Interior 1) of locus 2. After this is completed, I plan to bring I2 down to I1 and E1 levels. A small 1 m x 0.50 m probe will then be excavated, to explore the location of bedrock. After this, E2 will be excavated to the the level of the rest of the trench. The last action will probably be extending the east-baulk to the terrace wall—the last one on the east slope of Tsaghkahovit.
