Narrative

Started to remove the baulk between T02 and T02b before lunch. Loci will follow T02b sequence, so locus 9 will be bedrock with locus 10 below that, etc.

In T02c the thin layer of dark red clay of locus 10 (E.B. floor) near SW corner of trench can be followed east along southern portion of trench to where it meets the downward trend of the bedrock about 1.8m from western baulk. A carbon sample was collected from the floor where it meets the bedrock at 357cm below T02 datum. See fieldnotes for horizontal provenience. Above this locus 10 floor is a burn layer visible along the southern baulk and south side of locus 4 wall. Below the locus 10 floor (west of bedrock) is a tan clay layer that is now locus 17.
