AM. Troweled out AC4 locus 5 and 4, taking them down to the level of a 'surface' (locus 6) marked by contiguous patches of burning in the western trench. In taking out locus 4 (thicker burnt lens) I took a soil sample and we found an iron object that may be a key or piece of harness.
PM took down locus 8 in AC3, uncovered large fallen stones east of the base of the wall (which is a complete wall, but heavily robbed and crumbling) as well as another stone trough west of the arch base.
