We started this morning by continuing down in Locus 50. Under the line of rocks in the SW portion of Locus 50, there is a dark brown sandy clay loam with moderate gravel inclusions. Along the western border of the locus, in the center, we found a fragment of a groundstone (Ar/Ge.T31.50.L.01) at 2283.48 masl. We started another pass west of the LB floor (Locus 53). The matrix is a yellow brown sandy clay loam with a high level of gravel inclusions.
We found a portion of a sickle blade (Ar/Ge.T31.53.L.01) in the center of the locus, along the line of rocks on the western side, at 2283.41 masl. The sickle blade was just north of a small concentration of large ceramics sherds. This concentration of sherds is located in a roughly L-shaped lens of medium/dark brown sandy clay loam with moderate gravel inclusions. Along the eastern wall of the locus, there is what appears to be bedrock.
I also opened a new locus (Locus 52), west of Locus 50, in order to clear the remaining topsoil from the trench and to put a step into the trench in order to locate a terrace wall if there is one. The soil in Locus 52 is a medium brown sandy clay loam with low to moderate level of gravel inclusions.
