We continued work on loci 36 and 37 today. 37 was finished about halfway through the day, and I subsequently opened locus 40 directly to the SE of it to continue digging the floor. On the SW wall LK asked me to open a locus to clean the top of the wall to look for a doorway; locus 39 was created for this purpose. It runs for a distance of about 5m along the wall (see notebook for exact dimensions and drawing) and, significantly, also ventures a little ways outside the WSM2 trench dimensions in order to uncover an area that may have been a doorway. Today most of the dirt was removed from the locus, but we need to trowel the area down further tomorrow to get answers.
The back (SE) section of the trench was left alone today. Yesterday I had opened locus 38, but I did not have the workers dig it today. Progress in the floor of 35 is slow enough, since there is a pretty large amount of soil that we have to screen.
The workers troweled too much dirt under the NE side of the feature in locus 29 today, and two stones fell out of place. They were immediately repaired, but their orientation is no longer original. I did draw the feature before this incident (notebook 1), so this can be used for reference.
