Cold rainy day on site this morning, but we continued to excavate T34 in order to better understand the relationship between the four walls that line the trench (one in the W, one in the N, and two in the E). I also decided to open a new locus between the two eastern-most walls as this space is filled with soil and does not seem to be a particularly convincing fill (rubble or otherwise). I hope this locus will allow further cleaning of both walls in order to help us understand the relationship between the two (why you would build two walls within one meter of each other is still confusing to me).
Towards the end of the day we came across a more packed surface in the SW corner of the trench which doesn't quite seem like a floor, but perhaps some sort of other surface. I've opened a new locus for this half of the trench (L06) just in case. This means that T34 now has three open loci:L04 in the northern portion of the trench, L05 (between the two eastern walls); L06 in the southern portion of the trench.
