We started today by continuing to remove the topsoil from the southern half of the trench. We extended the boundary of the trench 1 m to the west and 0.5 m to the east, in order to find the boundary of the large stones circling the cromlech.
As the day progressed, we found where the circle of stones continued. It appears that the southern half of the stone circle is at a greater depth, possibly due to being constructed on a slope. In the afternoon we started removing overburden with a shovel in the southern half of the operation. The soil color is exactly the same as under the topsoil, so it remains Locus 1.
