Narrative

July 9, 2013
Today was very hot. It was very sunny most of the day. My agenda for the day was to trowel out Locus 14, close locus 14 and open locus 18. I opened locus 18 and found a medium brown silty soil. We went about half a shovel down for locus 18. I took the balk out and closed locus 17. As we dug, we decided to extend the locus 18 to the wall as the soil patterns were similar. I found clay like soil about 10-15 cm down. I found charcoal in locus 18 and point provenienced it. I also found a shell in locus 18. I point provenienced this as well. I opened locus 19 adjacent to locus 18, but not as wide because I have a ridge of lighter soil along the NE wall up to Locus 18. (See drawing from July 10).
