There was rain during much of the morning, so we sorted pottery for the first couple of hours, beginning work before noon.
Locus 35 is the wall cleaning locus for the area beyond loci 15 and 16 (the NW and SW walls).
Locus 36 is below locus 5, and locus 37 is below locus 7.
Loci 38 and 39 are the stone walls on either side of locus 5.
Locus 35 top elevations
N corner: -74.7 cm (datum 2)
W corner: -48.6 cm (datum 1—from July 4th)
S edge: -88.7 cm (datum 2)
For locus 36 top elevations, see July 6th (for the bottom of locus 5).
Locus 37 top elevation: -51.5 cm (from July 6th, bottom of locus 7).
Because of the rain overnight and this morning we (Ara, Melkon and Tigran) focused on taking down loci 36 and 37, with 35 to follow. 37 was finished quickly, as one might expect. We began with trowels, but the workers suggested shovels instead—there was a significant angle between loci 38 and 39. This turned out to be a mistake, as at the very end of the day, Melkon created a significant dip in the center of the locus.
