Today we started to remove the NW quadrant (Locus 4) of Kurgan 2. The soil in this locus is the same medium brown silty clay loam. Material densities are very low. As we came down, there were more large rocks covered in clay in the center. The clay extends about 2 m out from the N-S section, by a large rock. Nearby, but at a higher level is a large worked stone, atop a few more large rocks. There is also a group of large rocks near the southern edge of the NW quadrant, near the stone circle. These stones are at the lower level.
