Today we cleaned the NW quadrant so that we can photograph it and Lilit can draw it tomorrow. Around the western chamber there is an area of large without large stones or the small ones. It is hard to tell whether the small stones are part of the layer covering the tumulus or a separate construction associated with the chamber. When we dug down into that area, we hit decaying granite. It might be bedrock. Since it seems like we probably have 3 rather large chambers in Kurgan 2, we decided to suspend work at Kurgan 3 this season.
