Todays workers were: Artur (for Arman), Zarzand, Roland, Karen (for Karlos), Tigran (for Grikor), and David (for Sanobel). At 11, Karen exchanged with Karlos. Zarzand had to leave after lunch, to make hay.
The day started out clear and warm, but became very windy by 3 pm, when we decided to stop working for the day, since it was too windy to hear each other, and the dirt was blowing off the shovels.
Locus 6 should be recorded as stratum 2.
In the pit (locus 9), the soil began to be a soft, brown soil, mixed with charcoal, then some more ash. A couple of small stones were found within the pit. ATS began looking for the edges and bottom of the pit (beyond the boundaries in our photograph from yesterday, which had the pit at a depth of 2294.1), but had not found them by the end of the day. The soft soil continues for quite some depth, suggesting that the extent at the top is larger than we currently see, but the edges are not clear at the moment. The pit can be seen drawn on the maps from July 16th and 17th. The edges at one point were 125 cm from the S wall, 104 cm from the E wall, and 35 cm in diameter, but additional recording will be done.
Locus 12 is a ‘surface’ of a medium brown color, with some charcoal inclusions, which is well-packed—much more than the silty soil of locus 6 above it.

Tomorrow we will brush the entire trench for a photo, clean the pit (loc. 9) of all loose soil, then following the photo, scrape the surface and find the edges of loc. 9 again.
T35.09.C14.02 is a good piece of wood charcoal.
