7/18/2013
Today our workers were: Artur (for Arman), Roman (in the afternoon, Suren), Roland, Tigran (for Grikor), Karlos, and David (for Sanobel). Zarzand was absent today.
Loci 7 and 8 were cleaning loci and are closed today.
We took photos of loci 11 and 12, including locus 9.
Soil samples from locus 12:
Western sample had elevations between 2294.475 and 2294.38, located 115 cm from S baulk x 385 from E baulk.
Central sample had elevations between 2294.34 and 2294.215, located 135 cm from S baulk x 230 from E baulk.
T35.12.CO.01 is at 2294.42; 115 from S x 352 from E. It is a crucible. Found near a complete pot in locus 12. There was another, nearly half complete vessel which was found near this object.
There is a lot of charcoal around the nearly complete ceramic pot in locus 12 (drawn in map for July 18th), but none of it in a secure, associated context.
The wall coming through locus 11—at about 3-3.5 m from the E baulk, is very clear and straight. It is not clear what happened in T35 (might check old plans to see if there ever was a continuation?).
The taking out 5 cm across locus 12 is going slightly unevenly. It is also now a little less certain that the surface at the E third of the trench is the same as the surface near the center of the trench—where we found the nearly complete pot and T35.12.CO.01. Soil samples taken from the two areas (W and C) might help.
Locus 11 bottom elevations (and top elevations for locus 13).

Locus 13 is the soil in the baulk, bringing it down to the level of backfill in T20 (but will possibly also include the backfill?).
T35.14.C14.01 was at elevation of 2294.422; 37 cm from E x 170 from S.
