We opened locus 7 to take down the baulk between Cynthia and my trench. I will take it down probably in 2 loci, since the wash layer is so deep. I had a few guys dig in locus 5 a little more to see what the upright looking groundstone is. They were careful to dig around it without exposing too much or making it fall over. I don\'t think I found a clay floor that is the same as what I found in locus 6. I troweled out both level of locus 5 (there is a ridge in this locus) and found the same soil, so i expanded my digging. I can see 2 wall courses almost all the way around. At the end of the day, I troweled out the bottom of my trench and found clay like floor in locus 3, 5, 6. I found a flagstone floor in locus 8, which was exciting. It is odd though because it is sort of slanted instead of perfectly flat. . I created locus 9 to find the floor. I started screening locus 6 when I found the oven looking feature. Unfortunately, not all of this locus was screened. I covered the clay with bags and left it for tomorrow.
