Today we started by digging the contours of the western chamber (locus 8) and continuing down in the central area (locus 9). Adam brought the total station and mapped the location of the 7 large stones on the eastern side Locus 9. We then removed those 7 stones. Just underneath these stones is another line of large stones running NNW-SSE, sloping downward. We extended out operation on the east side by laying out a square (0.8 m x 3 m).
In the western chamber, Adam mapped the location of the 3 whole vessels (Loci 10, 11, 12). By the end of the day we had established the contour of the chamber, which extends all the way to the cromlech. While digging, we uncovered two articulate vertebrae near Locus 11 and some ribs near Locus 10.
