Narrative

Today's work was rained out at 2PM, but while out efforts were cut short, there was significant progress across several quarters. In trench West, work descending in loci 37 and 38 punched through intense pebble deposits to reveal a more loamy matrix dominated by EB pottery. This excavation has also cleared wall fall and soil from atop the N-S LB wall, clarifying the uppermost stones there.

Efforts just east of the wall, in loci 35 and the new 39, opened wall stone faces all the way to the northern operation baulk for the first time. We can now descend an pull rocks to the east as we work to define, document, and remove the possible burial there.

Finally, work in trench south, locus 36, continued to descend and expose wall stones in an effort to both move north toward the possible burial and clarify the progression of the wall line from trench east to west.

Mapping activities documented two new room spaces before rain forced shutdown of the total station.
