Narrative

Today Maureen worked with me at Kurgan 2. It rained very hard overnight and the day before, so when we arrived at the site this morning, everything was very wet. The rain had displaced a few beads from the bracelet and a bone from the concentration of animal bones to the west of Locus 107. Other than that, everything seemed to have weathered the storm okay. It was too wet to begin work, so we uncovered the central chamber and waited for it to dry. At 10:20 AM, we decided that it was unlikely to be dry enough to work before the later afternoon, so we went back to the house to do other work.

In 2013, I designated the sheep legs just northeast of Locus 28 (a whole vessel, EIA) as Locus 36. The legs continued north and down in the section, and are now resting on top of a small pile of animal remains (med. mammal ribs, innominate, and humerus), just east of and at the same level as Locus 107 (the second body in the central chamber). I am including these bones in Locus 36.
