Today Maureen worked with me in Kurgan 2. This morning, everything was much drier than it was the day before, and we were able to start work after a little bit. We spent the day cleaning around the body (Locus 107) in the central chamber. At the end of the day, we photographed the exposed situation. The pair of medium mammal legs in Locus 36 (in the central chamber) consists of one forelimb (west) and one hindlimb (east). There have been beads coming up around Locus 107 and there have been concentrations east of of the pelvis, east of the scapula, and north of the elbow (articulation of humerus and radius-ulna), in addition to the groups of beads found in situ (Locus 111 and Locus 113). Locus 113 are the beads found in situ near the arm of the skeleton. All of these groups of beads, as well as the loose ones, have been the same group of large spheroid carnelian beads and small cylindrical paste beads (white, blue, and black). The bottom of the central chamber is lined with orange clay, and the stones of the two walls continue below the clay.
