Today marked the completion of excavation in our AB4 LB room and Lilit Ter-Minasyan's drawing of AB4. All that is left for this season is excavation behind the locus 45 wall, section drawing and backfilling.
In the LB room, we removed the remaining matrix in the locus 59 pit, including two astragali, stone tools, and other materials. We also removed trench central paving stones to better define Pit 403 (locus 59) and cleaned the operation for final photos.
Locus 61 was opened as a builder's trench locus behind (west of) the locus 45 wall, and we exposed bedrock here, revealing the deep LB construction cut. Also opened here was a section of small limestone (EB) wall stones running NE to SW at the base of the locus (on bedrock). These will be recorded as locus 62.
