Today we continued at Operation 2 at Aparani Berd. We continued to take down Locus 3 which didn't reveal much. Locus 2 revealed almost nothing. The yellow clay continued and along the south side of the trench extending to Locus 3 there is a crumbling stone that seems to have a very high Iron content and may be slag. this was the most significant find of the day. The trench was leveled and we plan to take it down another level to see if the pit reveals anything further and if perhaps we have hit a natural bedrock or geologic formation in Locus 2.
